Teacher Training School

TTS is a school-based teacher training program that lets you study for your teaching degree while working part-time in a Christian school. You’ll gain real classroom experience from day one, earn as you learn, and grow with a supportive, faith-filled community.

TTS is for anyone who feels called to teach and wants to combine faith, study, and hands-on experience. You might be:

• A Year 12 student thinking about your next step
• Taking a gap year and wanting meaningful work
• Already at uni and looking to switch
• Changing careers and ready to make a difference

Applying is simple — and we'll guide you through it! You'll need:

• A short written response about why you want to teach
• A Christian character reference (e.g. pastor, chaplain, teacher)
• Your school report, resume, or previous study details
• A quick overview of what you've been doing (if you've finished school)

We'll then invite you to a friendly interview to learn more about you and your goals.

We do our best to match you with a Christian school that's close to where you live — especially if you're already part of a school community. You can let us know your preferences during the application, and we'll work with you to find the best fit.

TTS flips the traditional model. Instead of years of theory before stepping into a classroom, you:

• Work in a Christian school 1–2 days a week
• Study your Bachelor or Master of Teaching online
• Receive ongoing mentoring and coaching from real teachers
• Learn by doing, not just reading

It's more practical, more supported, and more connected.

Yes — you'll earn while you learn. TTS trainees receive:

• Paid work as a Teacher's Aide (1–2 days per week)
• 50% of university fees covered
• Support from your school placement and mentors

You'll be gaining experience, income, and a degree — all at once.

You won't do this alone. Every TTS trainee receives:

• A personal mentor teacher in your school
• A school-based coordinator to guide your progress
• Weekly online sessions with the TTS Manager and fellow trainees
• A national trainee network to connect, reflect, and grow with

Yes — the TTS schedule is designed to work with your life. Most trainees work 1–2 days per week in their school and study flexibly online. You'll need to manage your time well, but we'll support you in setting a healthy rhythm.

TTS works with:

• Christian Heritage College (CHC) – for Bachelor and Master of Education

All programs are delivered via distance education, so you can study from your home state while working in your placement school.

Yes! If you're already partway through a teaching degree, you can still apply. We'll help you transfer, and you may even receive credit for your classroom experience. TTS can offer you the structure and support you may be missing in a traditional uni course.

While we can't guarantee a job, many TTS graduates are offered teaching roles in CEM schools — often the same ones where they trained. You'll build deep relationships, a strong reputation, and the skills schools are looking for.
